Waiting For Supplies to Arrive

After seeing the Trellis earrings, a client was curious about the stones composing the piece. After sending her photos of the Tundra sapphires and beautiful faceted Mozambique garnets, she instantly requested for 2 necklaces that will contain these two.  I have worked on the design in my head and decided on how it will look like.  Future updates on that soon.

I’ve just finished a huge order of baroque freshwater pearl earrings for a wonderful client who plans to give them as gifts to their lady guests.

I am also working on another tassle earring project after a client saw the Mughal Princess earrings.  I will be using her birthstones and those of her two daughters.  Another challenging work ahead for this piece and I love it!

Other than those, I have 2 orders for my Floral Retreat neckpieces, a citrine set, South Sea shell pearl necklace, a pair of Nest earrings.  The supplies have not arrived yet.

Phew! Reading back through this post, please excuse me for being in and out of blog posting for a while.  Although I will do my best to drop in every day, I don’t think I will be able to post long.

In the meantime, why not browse through my shop cause there might be something you might like 🙂

Readers, I will give you a 15% discount if you mention the “BLOGDISCOUNT15”  coupon upon checkout 🙂

Happy Valentine’s Day!

How did your day go?

The hubs and I spent it at home.  Yes, it was just another day at work for us and school day for the little one but we went home early and spent more time together.  The little one gave us a card they did at school while the hubs gave me this:

The people at work wore something red but I didn’t and wore my usual blackoffice suit.  I didn’t even think of wearing any red accessory.  My boss noticed this and I realized, maybe I should have worn something to commemorate the event?

For those in the same situation, here are a few things available in my shop:

24k vermeil filigree ear studs, handmade discs, Swarovski crystals

Austrian crystals, red coral, 14k gold

Garnet ear studs, carnelian, 14k gold

Red coral beads, handmade 14k gold discs

Carnelian, orange jade, 14k gold

red turquoise, 14k gold

Rubellite, red tuquoise, 14k gold

Red coral, sterling silver

Red turquoise, garnets, sterling silver

Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone!!!

As Worn…..

February Birthstone

February’s birthstone is Amethyst.  It’s rich purple color exudes a mysterious energy that evokes calmness.  Most people say that amethyst is spiritually protective of the wearer and can provide contentment.

Amethyst is closely related to Bacchus (godl of wine), Dionysus (god of libation) and Diana (moon goddess and goddess of nature).  Known by psychics to cure sleep disorders and nightmares, this month’s birthstone is believed to also help overcome alcohol addiction.

For those born on this month, here are a few amethyst jewelry available now at my store:

Amethyst is not my birthstone color but its my favorite 🙂

Floral Retreat Limited Edition Necklace

When my mom was sick, I busied myself making lots of beautiful things I knew mom would like.  She loved seeing me work and loved it even more seeing the finished product.  It was good that I received lots of Christmas orders.  During this time, I also experimented on other designs and decided to make them part of a new collection.

This past weekend, while working on some more of these, an intricately surprising idea came to my head and I made this:

I used 5 of my floral charms and added them to a chain adorned with Austrian crystals.

I’ve decided to make it a bespoke piece and can only be ordered in my shop.

January 2012 Collection

I know this is late but do let me share with you the collection I prepared for January 2012:

Trellis

The request:  A pair of dangler earrings in the shape of a leaf using garnet gemstones.

The dilemma: None.

The process:  The client wanted a pair of garnet earrings.  I suggested that we add more than just garnet because this gemstone has a rich wine red color.

Combining it with other gemstones in the same color family will give the piece life and vibrance.  So I scoured my suppliers to see what they had and I found these:

Gorgeous gorgeous Tundra sapphires in red-orange, orange, and olive!

With this project, I needed to take my time.  Remember, I do not sketch.  I knew that I could only work on it during my good creative mood (read: when I feel like it inspired) to achieve the best results.

Fast-forward to 1.4 months, this is how it came out:

As you can see I’ve attached it to peridot cubic zirconia in 14k gold bezel set ear studs.

All other gold is 14k rolled yellow gold.

If you’d like to own something as intricate as this, do leave a message in the comments below or send me a message at my shop.
