The dilemma: Full nest setting is hard to do because of the shape especially if there’s nothing inside it.  It had to be a perfect circle.

The result:

That is the reason why I love collaborating with clients.  The exchange of ideas give me a certain high.  Its the interchange of thoughts in the design process that keeps me energized and inspired.

In the future, if you need a hollow you can shape it out of cork or paper paste (I prefer cork) let it dry overnight, and use that in place of the gem or void that will be part of the final design. It burns out easily with a torch at temps far below those that would harm the metals. I always love seeing someone “Self Taught” succeed!
